The 1980 Pontiac Trans Am was never built to disappear quietly into traffic. Long bonnet, wide hips, snowflake wheels, red cabin, white paint, and that unmistakable Trans Am attitude. It is the kind of car you notice before it even starts.
This one has lived a better second life than most. Owned since 2003, it was upgraded in 2006 from the original underpowered turbo motor to a proper 350 V8, stroked to 383ci. That means the looks now have the bite they always deserved. The Turbo 350 gearbox was also rebuilt in 2006, giving the car a strong and simple drivetrain that suits the character perfectly.
It still carries the theatre of the era. The red interior, deep bucket seats, classic dash, snowflake rims and low stance all come together exactly the way a Trans Am should. It looks loud without needing stripes, spoilers or nonsense. Just pure American muscle attitude.
The car received a blowover in 2024 and was serviced in 2025, so it presents well and is ready to be enjoyed. This is not a factory-correct museum piece, and that is part of the appeal. It is a Trans Am built for someone who wants to drive, hear and feel the car, not park it under fluorescent lights and argue about casting numbers.
