This 1978 Mercedes-Benz 350SLC is a clean, well-presented left-hand-drive C107 coupé, originally imported from Germany and finished in its factory colour. It has the right presence: long bonnet, pillarless glass, chrome detail, proper coupé proportions, and that quiet Mercedes-Benz confidence from an era when these cars were built to cross countries, not sit under covers.
The C107 SLC has become an increasingly uncommon sight, especially in left-hand drive. It carries all the grand touring charm of the R107 family, but with the fixed roof, longer wheelbase, and genuine rear seating that make the SLC feel like its own car rather than simply a hardtop SL. The result is elegant, understated, and very usable.
Inside, the car retains its original leather upholstery, giving the cabin the correct period feel. The tan interior suits the white exterior beautifully and presents with the kind of honest character collectors appreciate. It feels warm, correct, and lived-in without looking tired or abused.
Power comes from the M116 V8, a 3.5-litre Mercedes-Benz engine known for its smooth delivery and effortless touring nature. From the factory, the 350SLC produced around 200 PS / 147 kW, giving it proper long-distance performance without losing the relaxed character these cars are known for.
This example has also been upgraded with modern electronic fuel injection and ignition management, replacing the ageing Bosch setup. It has been properly mapped and tuned, improving cold starts, throttle response, drivability, and day-to-day reliability, while still keeping the original character of the V8 intact.
The car has received a factory colour respray and presents very well throughout. It is mechanically sorted and set up as a usable classic, not a museum piece you are scared to drive. That is the appeal here. It looks right, feels right, and has had the right work done to make it enjoyable in the real world.
